The High Line, NY by Elizabeth Diller
The Serpentine Gallery is having its sixth weekend-long marathon art event. This year’s topic is the ‘Garden Marathon’, exploring the creative connections between design and the natural world. The idea for the event was conceptually derived from the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2011 by Peter Zumthor.
50 international designers, architects, landscape architects and artists will participate in the event. They will each, in different ways, explore the literal and metaphorical importance of the garden either through spatial, urban, or scientific methods. Poets and writers will be present their workthrough a series of readings, exploring the significance of these themes.
